Job Overview:

The Construction Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel, conduct research, and handle various legal proceedings related to construction law matters. They will collaborate with senior attorneys to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Duties:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and legal proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, prepare for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, and provide informed counsel under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Analyze legal issues in construction matters, offer strategic advice to clients, and negotiate on their behalf.
  • Maintain organized client files to ensure accurate and accessible information for attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure efficient case management.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within construction law.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • Judicial clerkship experience or strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management, problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must meet billing goals and deadlines effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
