Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group. This is a permanent, non-partnership track position ideal for individuals with 5 to 10 years of experience in asset management law. The Attorney Specialist will assist with mutual fund and ETF filings, new fund launches, and regulatory compliance under the 1940 Act. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a team of professionals on complex matters in the asset management sector, while contributing to the growth and success of the firm’s AMIF practice.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA.

Duties:

  • Support attorneys with mutual fund and ETF filings.
  • Assist with new fund launches and the review/update of mutual fund registration statements and shareholder reports.
  • Prepare and review mutual fund board materials.
  • Conduct legal research related to matters arising under the 1940 Act.
  • Collaborate with partners and associates on significant client matters.
  • Demonstrate project management and leadership skills, ensuring high-quality client service.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in asset management and investment funds.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong academic background with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the 1940 Act and mutual fund regulatory work is preferred.
  • Commitment to long-term development in the asset management and investment funds sector.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the bar in the state of practice.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of mutual fund regulations, especially under the 1940 Act.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
