Duties:

  • Lead cases through federal and state courts, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and effective advocacy.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional customer service and legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with clients, IRS Chief of Counsel, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and DOJ Tax Division as necessary.
  • Balance and manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to business development and client acquisition.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax court litigation focusing on civil tax controversy.
  • Experience in refund litigation matters is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with the IRS Chief of Counsel, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and DOJ Tax Division is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop business and manage a client portfolio with growth potential.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.
