Job Overview: A law firm based in Los Angeles is currently seeking a Health Care Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid compliance and reimbursement. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, compliance issues, and related matters such as value-based purchasing models and alternative payment arrangements.
  • Assist healthcare clients, including providers and health plans, with regulatory compliance and contracting matters related to Medicare and Medicaid managed care.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal and state legislative, regulatory, and policy developments in the healthcare space.
  • Advise on business strategy and transactions in the healthcare sector, if needed.
  • Assist healthcare organizations with the investigation of compliance issues and suspected fraud, waste, or abuse.
  • Offer counsel on physician contracting, HIPAA compliance, accountable care organizations, health care IT and data, corporate governance, and tax-exemption issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of legal experience focusing on Medicare and Medicaid compliance, reimbursement, and regulatory matters.
  • Prior experience working with healthcare providers (e.g., hospitals or healthcare systems) or managed care plans is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to provide insightful, well-supported legal advice.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California and good standing with the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in healthcare regulations, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement policies.
  • Ability to interpret and advise clients on complex healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
