Partner-level Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking a highly skilled Partner-level Insurance Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing insurance defense matters, particularly personal injury litigation. This role requires proficiency in handling civil cases through trial, including taking depositions, oral argument and hearing attendance, negotiating settlements, and reporting to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee insurance defense matters with a focus on personal injury litigation.
• Handle civil cases through trial, including:
  • Taking and defending depositions.
  • Attending oral arguments and hearings.
  • Negotiating settlements.
  • Reporting case progress and outcomes to clients.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on insurance defense matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants within the firm.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in insurance defense law and industry trends.

Requirements

• Currently licensed to practice law in New York and/or New Jersey (NJ license is a plus).
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on personal injury litigation.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex civil cases through trial.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to reach favorable settlements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide clear and concise reporting to clients.

Education
