A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to provide legal counsel in education and labor law matters. The firm represents school districts and educational institutions, handling various legal issues including education law, labor negotiations, employment law, and civil litigation. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on education law matters, including special education and public sector labor law.

  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, policies, and agreements related to employment and labor law.
  • Conduct legal research and draft opinions on various issues affecting school districts.
  • Assist in the development of strategies for compliance with state and federal education regulations.
  • Advise clients on employment-related issues such as collective bargaining, employee discipline, and workplace policies.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on complex cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in education law, labor law, or related areas.
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of public sector labor law and collective bargaining.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
