Practice Development Lawyer

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Practice Development Lawyer specializing in Private Funds to support the knowledge management needs of the practice group. The role involves maintaining practice resources, managing fund documents, and enhancing junior lawyers' skills through development materials.

Duties:

• Maintain and update the practice group’s resources including precedents, research materials, and development tools.
• Manage the database of fund documents and ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Create and update development materials to enhance the skills and efficiency of junior lawyers as required.
• Administer and govern information channels such as intranet resource pages, databases, practice sites, and email distributions.
• Collaborate with research specialists and paralegals to ensure information is current and easily accessible.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of substantial experience in private funds with expertise in legal and business environments impacting the practice and its clients.
• Proven track record of effectively managing legal resources and databases within a law firm environment.
• Strong understanding of fund documents, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior lawyers.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in managing legal documents and resources.
