A law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex estate planning, asset protection, trust and estate settlement, and taxation. This role requires a high level of expertise and a commitment to providing exceptional legal services to clients.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Advise clients on complex estate planning strategies, asset protection planning, and trust and estate settlement.
  • Handle the administration of estates, including probate proceedings and trust administration.
  • Provide counsel on tax implications related to estates and trusts and assist with tax planning to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Represent clients in disputes and litigation involving trusts and estates.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate, tax, and trust laws and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to trusts and estates.
  • Prepare and present cases in court when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
  • Proven experience in complex estate planning, asset protection planning, trust and estate settlement, and taxation.
  • International estate planning experience is considered a plus.
  • Member of The Florida Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Estate Planning or Taxation is required.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in The Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of estate planning, asset protection, trust and estate settlement, and taxation.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
