A law firm seeks a highly motivated and driven Entry-Level Associate Attorney to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate with an interest in personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills and will be eager to grow and develop in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Duties:

  • Handle primary practice areas of personal injury and medical malpractice.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, orders, and memoranda.
  • Respond to and draft written discovery requests and dispositive motions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, applying rules of evidence with precision.
  • Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status report correspondence.
  • Support trial preparation, including assisting with mediations and court appearances.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff, ensuring clear communication and progress in cases.
  • Negotiate settlements and guide in legal matters, offering practical solutions to routine legal problems.
  • Manage ongoing projects independently, demonstrating accountability and time management skills.

Requirements:

  • Recent law school graduate with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation preferred but not required.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and editing skills.
  • Ability to articulate legal arguments and advocate effectively in oral presentations.
  • Experience in negotiating settlements is highly desirable.
  • Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to approach legal issues creatively and provide practical solutions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar is required.
