A law firm based in Coral Gables is seeking an Employment Law Partner/Unit Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's strategic direction, maintaining and expanding client relationships, and ensuring the delivery of top-tier legal services in employment law. The ideal candidate will handle complex employment law cases, offer expert legal advice, represent clients in court, and contribute significantly to the firm's growth and management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the employment law unit, overseeing complex employment law cases and providing expert legal advice.
  • Represent clients in court and negotiate settlements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law, including legislation changes and best practices.
  • Attract and retain clients through excellent service and client relationship management.
  • Engage in networking, industry events, and marketing activities to expand the firm's client base and reputation.
  • Participate in the firm's strategic, financial, and organizational planning.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and associates, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various practice areas to contribute to the firm's overall success.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards and compliance with legal regulations within the firm.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the firm.

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in employment law, with a focus on defense.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and contribute to firm management.
  • Deep understanding of employment law and a track record of successful case handling.
  • Strong client relationship-building and management skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the firm's long-term strategic planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of business development and financial planning in a legal context.
  • A portable book of business is preferred.
