A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Associate to join its Miami, FL office. The firm is looking for a motivated and diligent attorney with 3-5 years of experience in employment law and litigation. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex labor and employment matters while delivering top-notch legal services to clients in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various labor and employment law matters, including discrimination, wage and hour disputes, and wrongful termination.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of employment-related issues, including compliance with federal and state labor laws.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, handbooks, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Manage employment litigation cases, including preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court.
  • Advise clients on strategies for addressing employment issues and managing workplace disputes.
  • Stay informed on legal developments and trends in labor and employment law to provide effective counsel.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service.
  • Work independently and collaborate with senior attorneys on high-profile cases and transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of employment law matters, from compliance to dispute resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Previous experience with labor disputes, wrongful termination, and employee relations is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Florida.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws at both the state and federal levels.
  • Experience with employment litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Strong drafting skills, including for employment contracts and policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
