Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a Junior Associate to join its expanding Project Development Practice Area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with experienced practitioners in a dynamic, multidisciplinary practice focused on matters throughout the Northeast. The role offers exposure to a variety of project development, commercial, financial, and real estate transactions. 

Location:

  • Buffalo, NY

Duties:

  • Work on project development, commercial, and financial transactions.
  • Assist with real estate transactions, including the negotiation and drafting of related documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on matters involving real property tax, land use, and zoning.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of issues relevant to project development.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Assist clients in navigating regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and opposing parties.
  • Participate in meetings, negotiations, and project planning discussions.
  • Provide support on all aspects of the development process from inception through completion.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in project development, commercial, financial transactions, and real estate transactions.
  • Experience in real property tax, land use, and zoning is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant state where the position is located.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
  • Knowledge of project development processes, including commercial and real estate transactions.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior attorneys and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
