Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly skilled litigation associate to join its team. This position involves handling a variety of complex litigation matters, including disputes related to fiduciary obligations, pension plans, employee benefits, and constitutional law. Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Manage and represent clients in a range of litigation matters, including fiduciary obligations, pension plans, employee benefits, constitutional law, insurance, and breach of contract disputes.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, motions, and legal briefs in both state and federal court.
  • Assist in eDiscovery processes, document review, and case preparation.
  • Participate in depositions and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients in strategy development and case management.
  • Take ownership of assigned cases and projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of litigation experience.
  • Proven ability to draft and respond to legal documents, including discovery requests, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • eDiscovery experience and some deposition exposure preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, able to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California is required.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and advocacy abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal software and eDiscovery tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Analytical thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
