Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding team in Coral Gables, FL. This role offers the opportunity to work on intricate insurance defense and construction defect cases under the mentorship of highly experienced partners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation while developing expertise in construction law and insurance defense.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, including litigation strategy development

• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other case-related documents

• Conduct in-depth legal research to support case preparation

• Handle discovery processes, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review

• Attend court hearings, mediations, site inspections, and trials as required

• Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and witnesses

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and legal analysis

• Maintain strict adherence to deadlines and court requirements

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or construction defect litigation

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-focused environment

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and research proficiency

• Strong negotiation and litigation skills

• Effective time management and ability to meet strict deadlines

• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw

• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
