Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm in Laurel, MD, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join its legal team. This role involves representing financial institutions in foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and real estate-owned (REO) matters. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to manage a high-volume caseload, and a commitment to providing innovative legal solutions.

Duties:

  • Manage and prioritize a large caseload involving foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and REO matters.
  • Draft and review pleadings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and status conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to mitigate client risk and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the Virginia Bar.
  • Admission to the U.S. District Court and bankruptcy courts is preferred.
  • Prior experience in title, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or mortgage banking is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Virginia Bar.
  • Additional court admissions are a plus.
