Lateral Associate Attorney needed for Fort Lauderdale office

A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a skilled Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate should have exceptional academic credentials, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle complex litigation matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and litigate commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions and managing document review.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client matters.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Proven experience with discovery processes, depositions, and courtroom appearances.
• Outstanding academic credentials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
