Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking an experienced Matrimonial/Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm handles a range of family law matters, including both contested and uncontested divorce cases. The ideal candidate will have experience handling litigation, client relationships, and case management. The role provides an opportunity for professional growth and advancement.

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload, including both contested and uncontested matrimonial matters
• Draft and review legal documents, such as motions, discovery responses, statements of net worth, and divorce packets
• Conduct client consultations and maintain strong client relationships
• Prepare for and represent clients in depositions, court conferences, trials, and hearings
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and independently manage less complex matters
• Assist in case management, ensuring all deadlines are met and documents are properly filed
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients navigating matrimonial and family law issues

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience practicing family law, specifically matrimonial matters
• Strong litigation experience, including handling depositions, court conferences, and trials
• Proven ability to draft legal documents accurately and efficiently
• Experience managing a caseload with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and client relations skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar license in New York

Skills:
