Job Overview:

A law firm specializing in energy and infrastructure projects seeks a Projects Lawyer with 4-6 years of experience in project development, mergers, and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in renewable energy, oil & gas, or broader project development sectors.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements crucial to project development, including engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), and equipment procurement agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel on project financing, regulatory compliance, and risk management issues related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Conducted due diligence and assisted in transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures within the energy sector.
  • Advise clients on project development strategies, including permitting, licensing, and land use matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for Registered In-House Counsel status.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in project development, mergers, and acquisitions, preferably within renewable energy, oil & gas, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of handling complex transactions and agreements in the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and environmental laws impacting energy projects.

Certifications:

  • Preferred: Certification in Energy Law or related field (e.g., from the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators).

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interfacing with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
