Job Title: Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm, known for its dynamic legal practice, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney. This is a full-time, partnership-track position within the Transactions and Development practice group of the Energy and Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in handling corporate, project, and structured finance matters, particularly related to energy and infrastructure projects across Latin America and the Caribbean. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive independently with clients and colleagues.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on corporate, project, and structured finance transactions, with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Engage with development finance institutions and governmental bodies in project financing deals.
  • Provide legal counsel on complex cross-border transactions, particularly in the energy sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate finance agreements and related documentation.
  • Support clients throughout the lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects, from development to execution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Assume increasing responsibility for managing projects and client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 5-6 years of experience in banking, finance, and energy/infrastructure law (Class of 2019 – Class of 2018).
  • Strong background in corporate, project, and structured finance, especially within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Expertise working with development finance institutions and on Latin American/Caribbean projects.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential; Portuguese language skills are a plus but not required.
  • Proven initiative and leadership potential.
  • Ability to work independently with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in DC jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements.
  • Proficiency in managing cross-border transactions and collaborating with international clients.
  • Solid judgment and the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
