Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing Private Equity Finance Practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance experience. The role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team on cutting-edge projects and provides ample room for professional development and growth. 

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Handle borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance matters
  • Work on sponsor-side private equity acquisition financings (preferred experience)
  • Draft and negotiate financing documents and agreements
  • Provide legal advice to clients on various financing transactions
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to structure complex transactions
  • Manage a caseload and work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Assist in all aspects of transaction management, from inception through closing
  • Participate in due diligence and risk management processes
  • Stay current on legal developments in finance and private equity

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance
  • Experience with sponsor-side private equity acquisition financings is preferred
  • Strong understanding of finance law and private equity transactions
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the Bar in the state where the attorney will work

Skills:

  • Expertise in private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and drafting abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
