Litigation Associate - Labor & Employment

Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its Labor & Employment practice group. This position offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of labor and employment matters, including single plaintiff employment litigation and wage & hour class litigation. The ideal candidate will be an attorney with a strong background in complex litigation, particularly in defending employers against various employment claims. This role offers the opportunity for significant responsibility and client interaction, as well as mentorship and professional growth.

Location:

• Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

• Defend employers in complex litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and/or negligent hiring.
• Draft pleadings, substantive motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Develop litigation strategies and conduct large-scale document reviews and productions.
• Communicate and collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Second-chair trials, depositions, and/or evidentiary hearings.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Engage in client relationship building and business development.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience handling all aspects of complex labor & employment litigation.
• Experience defending employers against various claims, including discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
• Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required; admission to the NJ and/or NY Bar is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (required).
• Admission to the NJ and/or NY Bar (preferred).
