Job Overview:

The Bankruptcy Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients primarily in bankruptcy law. They will handle a diverse caseload and collaborate with colleagues to develop effective legal strategies.

Job Details:

  • Conduct legal research using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Train support staff on legal procedures and protocols.
  • On bankruptcy matters, provide legal advice and guidance to clients, including banks, servicers, credit unions, and other entities.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.

  • Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Michigan.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant bankruptcy laws, regulations, and legal principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bankruptcy law.
