Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and personable Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will handle a broad range of civil litigation matters involving individual clients and small business owners. This is a full-time position offering a balance of in-office and remote work (optional) after an initial period. The candidate will be responsible for legal research, court appearances, and handling cases from inception to resolution.

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to provide legal counsel and manage their cases.
  • Handle civil litigation matters including contract disputes, business torts, defamation, HOA law, and real estate disputes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive letters, pleadings, and legal briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and prepare cases for trial.
  • Assist in all stages of trial preparation and provide courtroom support during trials.
  • Draft legal documents such as discovery requests, settlement agreements, and motions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
  • 1-3 years of relevant legal experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients and represent them in court.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively with a legal team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical thinking with the capacity to approach complex legal matters methodically.
  • Organization and time-management skills to handle multiple cases effectively.
  • Trial experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite 4 days a week, with the option for 1 day remote).
