Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in media law cases related to content liability, free speech, and digital media technologies.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategies for cases involving copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, and privacy.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and contracts related to media law.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver legal arguments and presentations in court.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and experts to build and present cases.
  • Stay updated on trends and changes in media law and emerging technologies.
  • Manage a caseload effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining high work standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm or a combination of clerkship and AmLaw 200 law firm experience.
  • Strong background in media law, including copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, or privacy.
  • Experience in commercial litigation for digital media clients is highly desirable.
  • Independent knowledge of and interest in media law practice is encouraged.
  • Active membership in the California or Washington Bars.
  • Excellent academic credentials with strong analytical and writing skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California or Washington State Bar.
