A law firm located in Chicago, IL, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in title insurance, real estate disputes, mortgage and loan workouts, foreclosures, and other collection matters. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent academic credentials, organizational skills, and a persuasive demeanor. The Associate Attorney will be expected to handle complex litigation matters and contribute effectively to the firm’s practice. Dual licensure in Illinois and Indiana is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and litigate cases related to title insurance, real estate disputes, mortgage and loan workouts, foreclosures, and collection matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Develop and implement case strategies and provide legal advice to clients.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle case management tasks.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Stay current with legal developments and industry trends affecting real estate and collection matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
  • Experience in title insurance, real estate disputes, mortgage and loan workouts, foreclosures, and collection matters is preferred.
  • Excellent academic record and strong professional reputation.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois; dual licensure in Indiana is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Illinois.
  • Dual licensure in Indiana is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and managing complex litigation.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
