Associate Attorney Litigation

A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join its expanding litigation team in Dallas, TX. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work on complex legal matters, including creditor’s rights, bankruptcy litigation, high-net-worth judgment defense, and appellate work. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of litigation experience and a strong desire to grow within the firm. The position offers a collaborative environment where the attorney will work alongside senior associates and partners, handling their cases and contributing to larger matters.

Duties

• Manage a personal docket, overseeing day-to-day case activities and client communications
• Collaborate with senior associates and partners on larger, more complex litigation matters
• Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
• Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, responses, and discovery requests
• Work under tight deadlines, with the ability to handle emergent legal matters efficiently
• Ensure all case-related items are properly scheduled and maintained on the calendar
• Take ownership of specific projects, manage deadlines and coordinate with the team
• Provide support and assist in preparation for hearings and trials
• Demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills in managing cases and tasks

Requirements

• 0-3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on commercial litigation preferred
• Active Texas law license
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with legal research, preferably using Lexis Advanced
• Knowledge of litigation procedures and case management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently manage cases
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Texas State Bar license

• Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse caseload
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage complex legal tasks
• Proficiency in legal software such as Actionstep (preferred but not required)
