Job Overview: A law firm based in Dallas, TX, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing individuals in removal proceedings, managing a diverse caseload, and preparing various immigration applications. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, legal expertise, and working collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Visit and conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Make necessary adjustments to immigration applications/packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Legal Writing, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Case Management Software (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
