Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to join its team in Texas. This role involves handling a broad spectrum of labor and employment matters, including litigation, legal advisory, and transactional work. The ideal candidate will have expertise in employment-related legal issues, ranging from wage disputes and discrimination claims to contract negotiations and corporate employment policies. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of in-office and remote work.

Duties

  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation, including class action and single-plaintiff cases.

  • Handle legal research, case strategy development, and document drafting for employment-related disputes.

  • Provide legal counsel on various employment matters, such as wage and hour laws, harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including contracts, severance packages, and restrictive covenants.

  • Conduct due diligence on employment aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

  • Develop and implement workplace policies and training programs addressing key employment issues.

  • Manage interactions with regulatory agencies and represent clients in administrative proceedings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment law, including litigation, advisory, and transactional work.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, discrimination statutes, and labor policies.

  • Prior experience defending class and collective actions.

  • Ability to provide strategic guidance to clients on employment-related legal matters.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
