A law firm in Bakersfield is seeking an Associate Attorney or Of Counsel to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be academically distinguished with excellent writing and analytical skills, demonstrating a strong commitment to building the existing practice. This role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to move into a leadership position in the long term.
 
Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to tax law and estate planning.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client advice.
  • Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, and tax-related agreements.
  • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and court proceedings as required.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive advice to clients.
  • Assist in business development efforts to grow the firm's tax practice.

 
Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better in Law from an accredited law school.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning.
  • Admission to the State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws, particularly as they relate to estate planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services to clients.

 
Education:

  • Juris Doctorate or better in Law from an accredited law school.

 
Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
