Advertising and Marketing Compliance and Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a mid-level associate with two to five years of experience to join its Advertising and Marketing Group. The successful candidate will focus on providing legal counseling on various advertising and marketing practices, investigations, and litigation. Experience before regulatory bodies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), state consumer protection agencies, the National Advertising Division, and in consumer class actions is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have experience in advertising copy review, promotions counseling, and a solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing advertising and marketing.

Location:

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on advertising and marketing practices, including compliance with FTC rules, telemarketing laws, autorenewal laws, and pricing laws.
• Represent clients in investigations and litigation before regulatory bodies such as the FTC, state consumer protection agencies, and the National Advertising Division.
• Advise clients on advertising copy review, sweepstakes and promotions, email marketing laws, and other advertising-related matters.
• Handle consumer class actions and other litigation matters related to advertising and marketing.
• Draft and negotiate advertising agreements for clients.
• Work with a diverse client base ranging from start-ups to international retailers.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of relevant legal experience in advertising and marketing compliance and litigation.
• Experience with FTC rules and regulations, pricing laws, telemarketing regulations, and consumer protection laws.
• Experience handling investigations and litigation before relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., FTC, NAD, state consumer protection agencies).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar.

• Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.
