Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Houston, TX. This position offers significant room for growth and an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience to further develop their career. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing their caseload, interacting directly with clients, and collaborating with a team of immigration professionals. The position reports to a Senior Associate Attorney, and you will play an integral role in a dynamic immigration team.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of CP/Waiver cases, including I-130, I-601A, I-212, I-601, consular processing, and K-Visa cases
  • Prepare clients for consulate interviews
  • Represent clients before USCIS
  • Review immigration applications and packets for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage and supervise a team of paralegals to ensure productivity goals are met and client expectations are exceeded
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding potential benefits and strategies for their cases
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related matters
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop strategies and ensure the best outcomes for clients

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Strong case management skills with a proven ability to manage a caseload efficiently
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
  • Experience with Consular Processing applications and Waivers
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software preferred
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on client satisfaction

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas

Skills

  • Proficiency in Immigration Law, including family-based petitions, waivers, and consular processing
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
