Job Overview:
A growing law firm in San Jose is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney with over 7 years of experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in advising clients on wage and hour matters, class actions, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination cases. Duties:

  • Counsel clients on wage and hour matters, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and compliance issues.
  • Represent clients in California state and federal courts.
  • Handle class action litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
  • Prepare responsive pleadings and engage in motion practice.
  • Respond to discovery requests and manage litigation timelines.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with FMLA, ADA, and wage laws.
  • Develop workplace policies and conduct compliance training.
  • Manage administrative charges and guide clients through legal processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys to develop strategies.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation and compliance.
  • Strong background in advising clients on wage and hour, class actions, and employment discrimination matters.
  • Experience representing clients in both state and federal courts.
  • Ability to manage pre-litigation disputes, including counseling and training.
  • Proficiency in preparing legal pleadings, motions, and responses to discovery.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and other employment-related laws.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
  • Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and discovery management.
