Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

A law firm is seeking an associate attorney to join its team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will primarily focus on handling government investigations, internal investigations, and other white-collar and regulatory matters. Superior academic credentials from a top law school are required, along with excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or German is also preferred.

Duties:

• Manage and conduct legal research about government investigations, internal investigations, and regulatory matters.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and contracts.
• Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and client counseling.
• Keep abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar or ability to waive in.
• 2-4 years of experience in handling government investigations, internal investigations, and white-collar/regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal issues.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar or ability to waive in.

Skills:

• Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or German is preferred.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office suite.
