The ideal candidate will be a member in good standing of their current state bar, with a thorough understanding of consumer credit collections, state laws related to consumer collections, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The role involves managing cases using the firm’s case management software, attending court appearances, and potentially traveling. Multi-state licensure is strongly preferred.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in creditor's rights matters, including consumer credit collections, debt recovery, and enforcement actions.
  • Utilize the Firm’s case management and reporting software to effectively manage and track assigned cases.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, and other pleadings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide strategic legal advice on creditor's rights and consumer collections.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, providing regular updates and managing their expectations.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and provide high-quality legal representation.
  • Travel for court appearances and related activities may be required.

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the state bar where currently licensed.
  • Working knowledge of consumer credit collections, FDCPA regulations, and state laws regarding consumer collections.
  • Proven commitment to superior client care and proactive communication.
  • Ability to effectively use case management and reporting software.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative work style.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-state licensure is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
