Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property team. The firm specializes in technology law and is renowned for its multidisciplinary approach to handling complex litigation in areas such as trademark, copyright, trade secret, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to manage cutting-edge legal matters involving technology, data privacy, and intellectual property disputes across various forums, including federal and state courts, as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), ITC, and arbitration.

Duties:

  • Manage technology litigation and intellectual property enforcement matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
  • Develop and execute strategies for complex litigation and enforcement actions.
  • Counsel clients on risk management, particularly regarding product development and intellectual property concerns.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, demonstrating superior legal writing skills.
  • Oversee the discovery phase of litigation, including coordination with clients and vendors for e-discovery.
  • Provide strong client-facing communication and serve as a valuable team player in litigation settings.
  • Engage in legal discussions across a wide range of legal areas, supporting technology clients with various legal disputes.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and/or trade secret law, including litigation experience.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property laws, including the Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, CFAA, and related state laws.
  • Proven ability to engage with complex legal issues across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a passion for technology law.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while handling individual responsibilities.
  • Membership in the State Bar of California (or eligibility to apply).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the State Bar of California (or eligibility to apply).

Skills:

  • Expertise in intellectual property litigation, particularly in trademark, copyright, and trade secret laws.
  • Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and writing.
  • Strong understanding of technology-related legal issues, including AI and data privacy concerns.
  • E-discovery management and litigation strategy development.

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to handle complex matters independently.
