Job Overview: A law firm in Plano, TX, is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice, acting as lead counsel in contested matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing strategic guidance.

Duties:

  • Oversee and supervise all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice.
  • Manage a portfolio of contested litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Act as lead counsel in all phases of litigated proceedings, including responses, discovery, motions, trials, post-judgment actions, and appellate practice.
  • Keep clients informed about the status of litigated cases and provide strategic advice.
  • Guide operational staff on procedural changes and approve necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, regulatory, and client-directed legal requirements.
  • Monitor and recommend process modifications in response to changes in state, federal, and regulatory laws.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts.
  • 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel representing financial institutions in contested matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or equivalent.
  • Jurisdiction-specific experience in contested default matters and banking litigation preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts.
