Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and experienced litigation attorney to join its team in Saint Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing various litigation files, including insurance, personal injury, premises, and transportation cases. This role involves defending case files from inception through trial, depositing, drafting, arguing motions, and attending court hearings.

Duties

• Assist partners in managing insurance, personal injury, premises, and transportation litigation files.
• Defend case files from inception through trial.
• Handle depositions of parties, witnesses, treating physicians, and experts.
• Draft and argue routine and substantive motions.
• Attend court hearings in various counties and courthouses, as well as via Zoom.
• Prepare status and trial strategy reports for clients.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and answering interrogatories, production requests, and requests to admit.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Good standing with the Missouri Bar; Illinois license preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to proactively seek guidance with work tasks when necessary.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Deposition experience preferred.
• Meaningful litigation experience preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri; Illinois license preferred.
