Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and structure franchise and distributor programs.
  • Assess and provide counsel on various franchise contract and relationship issues.
  • Draft and review franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreements.
  • Perform state registrations and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Negotiate and draft supply contracts and other related transactions.
  • Assist in resolving franchise disputes and managing related legal matters.
  • Support international development and cross-border transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of franchise and distribution laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Illinois.
  • 2-5 years of experience in franchise and distribution law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drafting and negotiating franchise agreements and supply contracts.
  • Proven ability to handle complex international and cross-border transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of academic achievement and professional accomplishment.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, law, international relations, etc.) is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar Association.
  • Additional certifications related to franchise law or international business are a plus.
