Job Overview

A prestigious law firm is seeking a talented mid-level associate to join its Banking practice group in Chicago. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating credit agreements, loan documents, and other corporate finance matters. Duties

  • Draft and negotiate commitment papers, security agreements, credit agreements, and other loan documents.
  • Handle UCC-related matters and general corporate finance tasks.
  • Work with clients to structure and execute complex finance transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on a variety of banking and finance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on corporate and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in general finance and banking law (class of 2021-2018).
  • Strong background in drafting and negotiating finance-related documents, including loan agreements and security agreements.
  • Experience with UCC and corporate finance matters.
  • High academic achievement and solid law firm experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the relevant state bar (Illinois Bar preferred).

Skills

  • Expertise in banking and finance law.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of UCC and corporate finance matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
