A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join its national-caliber, high-stakes construction litigation and transactional practice. The ideal candidate will have a background in both litigation and transactional work related to construction, though strong candidates with experience on one side of the practice will also be considered. The role involves negotiating design, construction, and development contracts, as well as handling complex construction cases in state and federal courts and arbitrations. The candidate must have graduated from a nationally recognized law school in the top 10% of their class and possess strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in construction litigation, including complex cases in state and federal courts and arbitrations.
  • Negotiate and draft design, construction, design-build, and development contracts.
  • Provide legal advice on construction-related issues, including contract disputes, project delays, and construction defects.
  • Research and analyze complex legal and factual issues, preparing detailed pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Develop and implement strategic approaches for handling construction cases and transactions.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to resolve disputes and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients, focusing on client satisfaction and practice growth.
  • Stay current on developments in construction law, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in construction litigation and transactional work.
  • Graduated from a nationally recognized law school in the top 10% of the class.
  • Experience in both litigation and transactional construction law preferred, but strong candidates with experience in one area will be considered.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal and factual issues with strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and client-oriented approach.
  • Interest in establishing and growing long-term client relationships.
  • Admission to The Georgia Bar or eligibility for admission in the near future.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school, graduating in the top 10% of the class.

Certifications:

  • Admission to The Georgia Bar or eligibility for admission in the near future.
