Duties

  • Document and Motion Preparation

    • Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs.
    • Conduct comprehensive legal research related to nursing home abuse and corporate oversight of facilities.
    • Develop persuasive memoranda and other legal documents.
  • Legal Research and Analysis

    • Conduct in-depth research on laws, statutes, and case precedents pertinent to nursing home abuse cases.
    • Stay updated on legal developments relevant to the field of elder care and abuse litigation.
  • Team Leadership and Case Oversight

    • Oversee paralegals and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management.
    • Track time records, assist with billing review, and coordinate client meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a law firm setting, preferably with exposure to nursing home abuse or related litigation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with legal research platforms (Westlaw and Lexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Traits: Ability to manage a high caseload independently, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership is required, with a preference for active engagement in the local bar association.

Skills
