A law firm seeks an experienced Trial Attorney to join its team in Kalamazoo, MI, with additional work opportunities in Benton Harbor, MI. Duties

  • Manage a personal caseload, overseeing cases from misdemeanors to felonies
  • Engage in weekly strategy discussions with senior attorneys, focusing on creative case solutions
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and coordinate with legal assistants
  • Attend and participate in specialty court cases when needed
  • Conduct trials and represent clients in various court proceedings within the region, including Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties
  • Remain current with legal education requirements and actively seek opportunities for professional development

Requirements

  • Previous jury trial experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team setting
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active state bar membership in Michigan
