Job Overview: A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate Attorney with over 15 years of experience to join its expanding Employment Law Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment litigation and defense, particularly with school district defense. Trial experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of class actions, PAGA claims, and public entity defense is highly desirable. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to manage complex cases in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • Westlake Village, CA

Duties:

  • Manage and handle employment law litigation and defense cases, with a focus on school district defense.
  • Provide proactive case management throughout the litigation process.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and trials (trial experience preferred).
  • Advise clients on various employment-related legal issues.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage class/PAGA claims.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in employment law, particularly in litigation and defense.
  • Experience in school district defense is required.
  • Trial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Experience with public entity defense is a plus.
  • Superior research, analytical, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently and work effectively as part of a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
