A law firm seeks a Bilingual Immigration Attorney to join its team in Commerce, CA. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive legal support for clients in the areas of immigration, Crimmigration, and personal injury law. This role is ideal for someone passionate about advocating for the Latino immigrant community and making a meaningful impact through creative legal strategies and zealous advocacy. This position requires at least 4 years of immigration or Crimmigration experience and the ability to manage complex cases.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
  • Provide written analyses of legal issues and develop case strategies.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
  • Interact with clients to gather case information, provide updates, and address concerns.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring proper documentation and timely responses.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys to refine legal strategies and seek guidance on complex legal matters.
  • Offer legal advice under the supervision of more experienced attorneys.
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • At least 4 years of experience practicing immigration or Crimmigration law.
  • Proven litigation experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with immigration court proceedings, such as asylum cases and removal proceedings (highly desirable).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Successful completion of the bar exam in the state of practice.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in preparing legal briefs, motions, and other documentation.
  • Familiarity with immigration court proceedings and various visa programs.
