Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced litigation associate to join its Coral Gables office. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for those with a background in insurance defense, construction, or professional liability. This position requires an individual with a strong work ethic, a self-starter attitude, and the ability to handle cases in both state and federal courts. The role involves managing a caseload, conducting depositions, drafting legal documents, attending hearings, and participating in trial preparation. Location:

• Coral Gables, FL

Duties:

• Manage a caseload with oversight from partners.
• Handle litigation in both state and federal courts.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
• Research and write legal memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and site inspections.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Assist in trial preparation and attend trials.
• Provide case analysis and strategic development.
• Ensure attention to detail and high-quality legal writing.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Prior experience in insurance defense, construction, or professional liability preferred.
• Strong experience in managing a caseload and litigating in state and federal court.
• Ability to draft legal motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Experience with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be a self-starter with a proactive attitude.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Florida Bar License in good standing (Required).
