Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-4+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess superior legal writing and research abilities, exceptional client service skills, and a strong desire to take a lead role in case handling. They must be Barred in Virginia and have exposure to a vibrant litigation practice, including depositions, motions practice, mediations, and trials in courts throughout Virginia.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Manage a caseload from inception through resolution.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Analyze legal issues and provide strategic advice and counsel to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• 1-4+ years of experience in civil litigation.
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar.
• Superior legal writing and research abilities.
• Exceptional client service skills.
• Strong desire to take a lead role in case management.
• Exposure to depositions, motions practice, mediations, and trials.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
