Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution and Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice in the Electrical Engineering & Software or Mechanical Engineering team. Duties:

• Handle patent prosecution and litigation matters, including drafting and filing patent applications
• Provide strategic counsel to clients on patent portfolios, strategies, and litigation matters
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and strengthen clients' intellectual property assets
• Communicate with clients and coordinate with technical experts in various fields
• Analyze patent infringement and validity issues, preparing opinions and providing guidance on patent matters
• Manage all aspects of patent prosecution, including filing applications with the USPTO, responding to office actions, and advising clients on patentability
• Participate in litigation preparation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial support
• Stay informed on current trends in patent law, technology, and innovation to advise clients effectively

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including application drafting and litigation support
• Strong knowledge of patent law, especially related to Electrical Engineering, Software, or Mechanical Engineering
• Must be admitted to the California Bar
• Registered with the USPTO
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities

Education:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in California
• Registered to practice before the USPTO

Skills:

• Expertise in patent prosecution and litigation
• Proficiency in patent application drafting and strategic portfolio management
• In-depth understanding of intellectual property law, especially patents
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
