Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of litigation experience and will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload. The firm is looking for an attorney who can provide comprehensive legal counsel, conduct in-depth research, and effectively advocate on behalf of clients in court.

Duties:

• Handle and manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
• Develop case strategies and provide strategic legal counsel to clients.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Maintain detailed and organized case files.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and court decisions relevant to the firm’s practice areas.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
• Strong academic background.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
