Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and self-starting Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience, with strong writing, research, and litigation skills. Location:

Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs
  • Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the Workers' Compensation Board
  • Prepare for and attend trials
  • Retain and evaluate expert witnesses
  • Manage a caseload and meet annual billable hour requirements (1950 hours)
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and provide status updates
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the workers' compensation group

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar (additional state bar admissions are a plus but not required)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal research skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent client interaction skills and phone manner

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar (additional state bars a plus but not required)
