Junior Tax Associate Attorney

A law firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a Junior Tax Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of transactional tax matters, including real estate, fund formation, and REITs. This role involves working on partnership tax, investment funds, and conducting research while drafting memoranda and other forms of written advice. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in tax transactions, even without significant prior experience or an LL.M., are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with transactional tax matters including real estate, fund formation, and REITs.
• Work on partnership tax issues and investment funds.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, opinions, and other written advice.
• Collaborate with team members and handle significant individual responsibilities.
• Review and analyze complex tax documents and transactions.
• Provide support on various tax-related issues as needed.

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in tax transactional work.
• Demonstrated interest in tax transactions through coursework or other relevant experience.
• Currently pursuing an LL.M in Taxation is highly encouraged but not required.
• Admission to the State Bar of California.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic record with a focus on tax law courses.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.
